  Tentatively known as Spaceballs 2, the sequel is being produced by Amazon‑MGM and scheduled to hit theaters in 2027  .
• Creative Team
  
  • Director: Josh Greenbaum (Strays, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar)  
  • Writers/Producers/Stars: Mel Brooks returns (as Yogurt), co-writing and producing alongside Josh Gad, who will co-write with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez—and may also act in the film  .
• Returning Cast:
  
  • Mel Brooks reprises Yogurt
  • Original stars Rick Moranis (Dark Helmet) and Bill Pullman (Lone Starr) are both expected to return  .
• New Cast Additions:
  
  • Josh Gad (also co-writer, producer, possibly actor)  
  • Keke Palmer has signed on, possibly as “Destiny”  
  • Lewis Pullman (Bill’s son) is joining as “Starburst,” the son of Lone Starr and Princess Vespa  
  • Daphne Zuniga is expected to return as Princess Vespa
